World of birds

Birds, as we all know are warm blooded creatures with vertebra (back bone). They are different from other vertebrates in that they have an ability to fly through air. This is true in almost all cases, with some exceptions.
The power to fly has enabled birds to populate all corners of the earth. This explains their presence in all parts of the world, from the practically remote and uninhabitable (for humans) spots to the most populated regions.

Another reason for their presence all over is the insulation provided by their feathers, which makes them indifferent to any type of climate. Their entire bodies are covered with feathers and protect them from heat, cold and rain.
Due to their high metabolism rates, birds need a constant supply of food - insects, fruits, berries, grain, seeds, etc. To ensure a steady supply of food, birds tend to migrate to warmer regions during periods of extreme cold. So, you can watch the birds fly south across the winter skies in search of better supply of food.

Birds are creatures of great skills and possess the ability to fly for long distances without food or water, in search of a place to breed. However, they are extremely susceptible to the greed of humans, at the breeding sites. Except for the common crow, all birds are liable to be caught, shot, trapped for their meat, feathers or other perceived qualities of their body parts.
What can nature lovers do in such circumstances? We shall delve into this in the next post. Bye for now.
