Green Highways Project - An Update

Update on Green Highways Project

In my post on National Green Highways (October 16, 2015), I had written about the environment friendly initiatives undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to increase tree cover across the nation. To recall, this involved the plantation of native species of trees along the highway medians and on either side of the national highways.

Environmentalists will be glad know that that this initiative was not just on paper but has been widely implemented in different parts of the country.

The following table provides an update on the project and state of progress over the past 3 years.
